McDougall's Outreach Ministries

Christmas Hampers
This program provides gifts and a one week supply of food to (referred) families in need in Calgary during the Christmas season. We prepare fifty plus hampers by early December. The families must be referred to us for security and tracking reasons. Families are referred from a SE health care clinic, who receives names from schools in the area. You are welcome to participate in many ways!
Drop-in Centre Support
The Calgary Drop-in & Rehab Centre helps individuals after all other avenues of help and hope have been lost. Once here, trained counsellors and staff help provide treatment, guidance, food, clothing and a temporary bed as needed. McDougall's Ladies Fellowship group gathers, twice monthly, to make sandwiches and deliver them to the drop-in centre. Website: http://www.thedi.ca
Feed the Hungry
Feed the Hungry dinner provides hot, nutritious Sunday dinners to those in need. McDougall participates in the dinner program once a year, on the Sunday following Thanksgiving. This program offers a full course meal for 400-800 guests in a respectful atmosphere at St.Mary's Cathedral Hall. We sponsor $4000 along with 100 plus volunteers to the program.

Food Bank
The Calgary Food Bank is a crisis facility to feed Calgarians in need. On the First Sunday of each month we welcome your food contribution to the church. The food bank volunteers come with their truck the following monday to pick up the contributions. Cash donations are also welcome either in the collection plate or in the office-- please make cheque payable to 'The Calgary Interfaith Food Bank'.
Inn From the Cold
Helping homeless families on the streets by finding them shelter and food for the night. On the fourth Sunday of each month, McDougall hosts 15 individuals and provides hospitality. There are six areas which the congregation can help out: Set-up, Supper team, Evening and Overnight, Breakfast Crew, Clean-up and laundry. Sign up sheets are posted three weeks prior to the event. Recycling/ Re-using
To keep our environment clean, McDougall recycles paper, pop cans, juice boxes, tin cans, milk cartons, boxes etc.

We also collect eyeglasses, pop can tabs, Campbell soup labels, batteries and stamps for recycling to appropriate places
School Bags for Third World Kids
This project strives to collect specific school supplies for children in third world countries. Without these bags, many children would not go to school. In partnership with the Mennonite Central Committee and Ten Thousand Villages, McDougall contributes to this fall program. In each bag is a list of specific supplies needed, it is important to only include what's on the list so each child gets the same. Bags collected in Oct.
