The Calgary Drop-in & Rehab Centre helps individuals after all other avenues of help and hope have been lost. Once here, trained counsellors and staff help provide treatment, guidance, food, clothing and a temporary bed as needed. McDougall's Ladies Fellowship group gathers, twice monthly, to make sandwiches and deliver them to the drop-in centre. Website: http://www.thedi.ca
Helping homeless families on the streets by finding them shelter and food for the night. On the fourth Sunday of each month, McDougall hosts 15 individuals and provides hospitality. There are six areas which the congregation can help out: Set-up, Supper team, Evening and Overnight, Breakfast Crew, Clean-up and laundry. Sign up sheets are posted three weeks prior to the event. This project strives to collect specific school supplies for children in third world countries. Without these bags, many children would not go to school. In partnership with the Mennonite Central Committee and Ten Thousand Villages, McDougall contributes to this fall program. In each bag is a list of specific supplies needed, it is important to only include what's on the list so each child gets the same. Bags collected in Oct.
